The Park has a surface of 263,000 hectares, the main reason of their creation is to preserve a natural patrimony of exception: the larches forests. These coniferous, a true botanical curiosity, has up to 3.000 years of age and 60 meters high, with trunks of up to 3.5 m. of diameter. This giant and old coniferous, where you can arrived by a sailing trip and visit this true treasure, located in the Cisne lake, where the visitor enthuses with the exuberance of the landscape that conforms the Valdiviana forest. The same as the others National Parks located in the Patagonian Andean, is also sample an uneven mountainous relief, in whose valleys exist numerous rivers and lakes of incomparable beauty between which we found the Futalaufquen, Green, Menéndez and Rivadavia lakes.
The courses and lakes you can practice the sport fishing. The lovers of the mountain have a great attractiveness in the Torrecillas Hill and their beautiful snowdrift with eternal snow of up to 100 m. of thickness.Exist numerous paths for the trekking and walks in contact with the nature. The flora has the peculiarities of the Patagonian forests and the fauna is varied, including exotic species like the European boar and the mink.
The Center of Visitors, the Intendence of the National Park and their Headquarters of Forest Ranger, here you can find information. The Puerto Limonao (Futalaufquen Lake), and Chucao (Menéndez Lake), they are the starting point of sailling trips, combined with the terrestrial, they allow to enjoy of this exceptional park in their fullness. |
